Laurence WilsonLaurence began his career with Gordon Kinghorn, Chartered Architects, Dumfries. He moved to the Development Control section of Dumfries Town Council in 1970. He then remained in Local Government development control planning until 1997 with a fairly uneventful career Laurence also gained a Masters Degree and Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute in that time.

Since 1997 he has been a sole practitioner in a small but very busy town planning consultancy expanding to meet business needs. The consultancy has mainly been involved in the preparation of planning applications for private housing and housing estates within various Local Authorities throughout Scotland. It also deals with the preparation of planning appeals, representing clients at Public Local Inquiries, includes submissions of commercial and private housing. Clients have included Alfred McAlpine plc, Persimmons Homes plc, Clermont Developments Ltd, Clermont Construction Ltd, Kennedy Construction, Bank of Scotland, BP, along with a substantial number of business clients outwith the house building arena. Also included is a number of individual clients particularly within the land development arena.
