Peter Golds OBE has served as a councillor in two of London's most prominent and controversial Boroughs. He was Chairman of Brent Council's environment Committee for four years up to 1996 where he was involved in the initial planning briefs for Wembley Stadium. In 2006 he became a councillor in Tower Hamlets, representing Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs, one of the largest development areas in Europe. He is now leader of his group on this four party balanced council.
As well as serving in local government, he has been active both professionally and in a voluntary capacity in London politics for many years and his work has taken him from Brussels to Strasbourg via London's County Hall.
A history graduate, Peter lives in the east end of London (you can see his street on the logo for Eastenders) and spends too much time following football and listening to Opera.
