Steven Purcell

Steven Purcell is Leader of Glasgow City Council. He was elected to this post in May 2005 (age 32), and was previously Education Convenor and Development and Regeneration Services Convenor.

Since becoming Leader, Councillor Purcell has changed the city's focus toward social renewal and economic growth, with education and getting people into work a key feature of his leadership.
