Cameron is currently the Violence Reduction Unit’s National Anti-Violence Campaign Coordinator.
Since 2005 Cameron has been embedded within the UK and Scottish approaches to addressing Organised Immigration Crime and Human Trafficking and has assisted in the development of the Scottish Police Service commitment to the associated UK Government initiative ‘Reflex’ and to the multi-agency approach to Human Trafficking pioneered by Operations Pentameter and Pentameter 2.
Cameron has 23 years service, the majority of which has been as an operational detective officer in Strathclyde Police. In this role Cameron experienced wide-ranging investigative challenges within several police divisions covering the west, north and east of the City of Glasgow. He has also enjoyed a number of roles, including patrol supervisor at both Sergeant and Inspector ranks, Investigating Officer within the Complaints and Discipline Branch, Strategic Support to the Director of Intelligence, Detective Inspector within the Force Intelligence Bureau, and Chief Inspector within the Force Inspectorate
