BII Scotland
Janet Hood is Head of BII Scotland, a charity to promote high standards of professionalism throughout the licensed retail sector; to encourage new entrants into the industry, and to help them develop their long term careers by creating appropriate qualifications for those professionals.
An active member of a number of Scottish Government committees concerning alcohol she sat on the first National Licensing Forum. She is a keen participant on the Law Society of Scotland’s Licensing Law Reform Committee. She is honoured to sit on the Board of the Scottish Tourist Forum and VisitScotland's Chairman's Industry Committee; the Alcohol Producers & Retailers and the Scottish Government Alcohol Committee and sits on the Board of Alcohol Support Limited. She is an accredited specialist in liquor licensing law, is well known on the Licensing CPD circuit and is assistant editor and regular contributor to Scottish Licensing Law and Practice and trade journals.
She is currently touring Scotland advising the licensed trade and the legal profession of the changes in licensing law brought about by the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005.
