Graham is a user of mental health services and employed by Highland community care forum as the advocacy project manager. This really means that he works with the Highland users group (Hug.uk.net) which is a collective advocacy project representing 350 people. HUG has produced around 30 reports and has an international and national reputation in addition to its Highland focus. Hug is a partner in the see me campaign and represented on the board of voices of experience (VOX) it is also involved in the mental health act review as it was in the past with the review of the old act and the implementation of the new one. HUG has a particular interest and expertise in challenging stigma raising awareness about mental health and producing a range of creative training materials.
Previously Graham worked in Lothian with CAPS where he helped establish the Lothian users forum and a network of other advocacy groups.
Prior to that he was an active volunteer with Awareness which was one of the first collective advocacy groups in Scotland and before that he was a director of McMurphys in Sheffield a user run drop in centre for young people.
Graham is 45 years old loves whisky too much and would love to learn to be sillier than he is already.
