Andreana Adamson is Chief Executive of the State Hospitals Board for Scotland. Since her appointment in November 2002 Andreana has been tasked with leading the development of the National Forensic Managed Care Network.
Andreana qualified from Queen’s University Belfast with a BSC (Econ) in 1984 and from Edinburgh University with a postgraduate MBA in 1995. She has spent her entire career in the NHS, working firstly in Belfast in Acute Services planning and management. She came to Scotland in 1988 and has held senior management positions, latterly as Director of Planning in Lothian Primary Care Trust.
She counts amongst her achievements, the planning and development of Scotland’s first Medium Secure Unit, the sale of Gogarburn Hospital to the Royal Bank of Scotland for their recently opened World Headquarters in Edinburgh.
Andreana is a member of the International Institute of Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) and Board Member of the International Association of Forensic Mental Health Services (IAFMHS).
