Chief Executive
Alcohol Focus Scotland

Jack was appointed as Chief Executive of Alcohol Focus Scotland in January, 2000. 

Alcohol Focus Scotland is Scotland’s only voluntary organisation working on alcohol issues across the country. Its strapline is – ‘Promoting Responsibility, Reducing Harm, Changing Culture’. Alcohol Focus Scotland is committed to improving the quality of people's lives by changing Scotland's drinking culture - promoting responsible drinking behaviour and discouraging drinking to excess.

Jack is a member of the Scottish Ministerial Advisory Committee on Alcohol Problems, and other advisory and working groups. He is the chair of Voluntary Health Scotland and a Board member if the International Council on Alcohol and Addictions. 

He worked in Local Authority Social Services, in Strathclyde Regional Council and Glasgow City Council as a community worker and social work manager.
