Prof Irvine Lapsley Print E-mail
irvinelapsley.jpgIrvine Lapsley, Professor of Accounting and Director of the Institute of
Public Sector Accounting Research at the University of Edinburgh Management School. He has undertaken research funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the European Union, the Nuffield Foundation, Leverhulme Trust, the Research Foundation of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, the British Accounting Association and Government Departments.

Prof Lapsley has also published over 100 articles. He has lectured on his research across Europe and in the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. He is Chair of the Scientific Committee of the European Institute of Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) Public Sector Conference, a co-chair of the EIASM Third Sector Research Workshop and a co-chair of the CIMA New Public Sector Seminar.

Irvine Lapsley is Editor of Financial Accountability & Management, the leading international research journal in public sector finance and accounting. Irvine has been Budget Advisor to the Scottish Parliament. He is currently on sabbatical after completing his period of tenure as Head of University of Edinburgh Management School.
