What will Scotland’s transport infrastructure look like in 2022? What investment should we make now to ensure the smooth operation and connectivity to all of Scotland’s roads, rail links and airports?
Attend this one day event and hear from practitioners from across Scotland, presenting exciting examples of upcoming infrastructure investment projects from the Strategic Transport Projects Review (STPR). They will examine how the projects for the upcoming Draft Investment Portfolio were selected and how they are being taken forward.
|
The conference will examine the Draft Investment Portfolio, which is designed to maintain and operate existing assets, promote better use of existing capacity and promote targeted infrastructure improvements where necessary. The projects selected in the final Indicative Transport Investment Plan will be delivered between 2012 and 2022, including projects of national significance or groupings of local projects which when combined are deemed to be nationally significant. The conference will examine the hierarchy of investment established within the STPR, and those projects already moving forward, including the Edinburgh-Glasgow Rail Improvements Study. Delegates will also hear from a range of parties discussing how the STPR contributes to other strategic priorities including sustainable economic growth, the national planning framework and minimising the environmental impact of infrastructure development.
