Susan Matheson Print E-mail
matheson susan 24 07 08.jpgSusan Matheson is Chief Executive of Sacro, Scotland’s leading community justice voluntary organisation. Sacro provides a range of services across Scotland in criminal justice; restorative justice in both the adult and youth justice systems; community mediation; and restorative practices and mediation in schools. In addition to direct service provision, Sacro manages the national consultation and training service in community mediation. Influencing social policy and legislation in these areas is an important aspect of Sacro’s work and we base all our work on research evidence from the evaluation of our services and external research.

Susan represents the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum on the Ministerial National Advisory Body on Offender Management and the Scottish Government Strategic Policy and Finance Group. She also represents Sacro on the Scottish Prison Service National Suicide Risk Management Group, the Scottish Consortium on Crime and Criminal Justice, and the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum.

Prior to working in Sacro, Susan was Director of Family Mediation Scotland and before that Senior Research Officer in the, then, Scottish Office.

Her interest in the field of Sacro’s work is long standing and she is a member of Amnesty International, the Howard League for Penal Reform, the Scottish Association for the Study of Offending and the Scottish Refugee Council.
