As Scotland’s leading charity supporting victims and witnesses of crime, the organisation offers support and information to over 180000 victims and witnesses annually. Victim Support Scotland has been influential in developing and shaping policy designed to ensure that victims and witnesses in Scotland receive the highest standards of support and service available within our Justice System.  Prior to joining Victim Support Scotland Jim was a police officer for over 30 years.  Confidence and transparency in he Justice System in Scotland is of paramount importance to Victim Support Scotland.

Much has been achieved over the last 5 years in relation to ‘victims and witnesses’ within the Justice system however opportunities continue to exist to further enhance the support available and Victim Support Scotland continue to champion victim’s rights throughout Scotland.

“Scotland’s Choice” sets out a challenging agenda for change and provides a road map for a safer Scotland.   Victim Support Scotland recognises the challenges and view that any proposed changes must ensure that public confidence and reassurance is enhanced if the vision is to be achieved.
