A registered social worker, Sandy Riddell is currently Director of Community Services and Chief Social Work Officer with responsibility for community care, housing and social work services at Moray Council. He is a member of ADSW’s Executive Committee, is Convenor of the Association’s Standing Committee on Criminal Justice Social Work and is a member of ADSW’s Task Force on Substance Misuse. Sandy holds a number of regional and national remits in relation to social work and social care workforce development including being the Chair of the Scottish Social Services Learning Network North; a body which will host the training and staff development resources of the Northern Community Justice Authority.
Sandy is a graduate of Moray House, The Open University and the University of Stirling. After qualifying in 1978, he spent 27 years in Highland gaining wide experience in social work practice, management and service development before moving to Moray Council in 2005.
