Dr Moira Connolly qualified in medicine from Queens University Belfast. Having initially completed training as a General Practitioner, she switched to psychiatry in 1989, and undertook registrar and senior registrar training in Dumfries and Glasgow.
She has been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 1996, and for two years has been Clinical Director and Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee for Mental Health Services in West Glasgow and Lomond. Her research interests include the physical health of people with severe mental illness. She is actively involved in clinical audit and is a keen supporter of using informatics to improve service delivery.
