Rachel Briggs is a Visiting Fellow of University College London (UCL) and specialises in radicalisation, security and community relations. She also works in a freelance capacity with a range of public and private sector organisations, conducting research and advising on policy. She is also part-time Director of Hostage UK, a charity chaired by Terry Waite.
She was previously Head of the Identity Programme at Demos where she co-authored the influential report, Bringing it Home: Community-based approaches to counter-terrorism, and was Risk and Security Programme Manager at The Foreign Policy Centre.
She is a member of the Advisory Council of Wilton Park, a Council member of the Risk and Security Management Forum (RSMF), an Associate Editor of Renewal journal, and a Visiting Lecturer at Cranfield University.
