Master Builder Young Apprentice of the Year 2007
Mark first became involved in the Modern Apprenticeship programme when he was in 4th year at school. Following an opportunity at summer school to try different trades, he applied for an SVQ Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery with City Building (Glasgow) LLP.
Mark is now studying for an HNC in Construction Management, funded by City Building, which he hopes will help him become a Foreman or Operations Manager.
Since finishing his Modern Apprenticeship in August 2007, Mark has also won a number of awards, including the Scottish Building Apprentice Training Council James Birnie Award and the Federation of Master Builders National Young Apprentice of the Year award. In addition, Mark was also runner- up in the Glasgow Trade House Awards for Modern Apprentice of the Year.
