Louise’s background is in business, with nearly 17 years working in the arena of corporate and personal insolvency with one of the world’s largest accountancy firms. She has worked for Scottish Women’s Aid since 2001, her remit being to raise awareness on the implications of relevant legal issues affecting, and to defend and extend legal rights of, women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. In relation to vulnerable witnesses, she worked closely with the (then) Scottish Executive on the Bill, the subsequent implementation of the Act in relation to adult witnesses in High Court and Sheriff Court Solemn proceedings and the content of the various publications produced for witnesses and practitioners on the special measures introduced by the Act.
