John is Area Director for Victim Support Scotland’s Strathclyde West Area, covering the local authority areas of Argyll & Bute, West Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde, East Renfrewshire and Renfrewshire, Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway. He also has management responsibility for the Witness Service’s based at Paisley, Kilmarnock and Dumfries Sheriff Court and their associated cluster courts.
He joined Victim Support Scotland in April 2005 having retired from Strathclyde Police after completing 30 years service in a wide variety of posts. During part of his police service he was responsible for maintaining and developing relationships between victims, victim organisations and the police, and he has been able to use the knowledge and experience gained throughout his police career to good effect in his current post.
