Ian is qualified as a Social Worker in 1983 and moved to Fife in 1985 to take up the post specialist worker adults with learning disability.

In 1987 he moved to Leven Community Mental Handicap team working with people who had been resettled from long stay hospital. Since 1991 he has been involved in developing and managing the Fife Appropriate Adult service. He also has been a team leader within adult services since 1993.

Currently Ian has line management responsibility for Day opportunities and Accommodation services for adults with a disability in East Fife.
