Patrick Harvie is the Green MSP for Glasgow. He was elected to the Scottish Parliament in 2003, and has served as the Green Party's speaker on Finance and Sustainable Growth, Health and Wellbeing, Justice, and Parliamentary Business. He is convenor of the Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change Committee, and is involved with Cross-Party Groups on Sexual Health, Refugees and Asylum Seekers, Food, International Development, Human Rights and other issues.
Before election to Parliament, Patrick was employed with the Gay Men’s Project at the sexual health agency PHACE Scotland (now known as THT Scotland) from 1997-2003, initially as a youth worker and then as Development Worker for the Lanarkshire area. Working at PHACE, Patrick was involved in research, groupwork, one-to-one support work, resource development, fundraising, equality policy work and training in assertiveness, sexual health, equality and discrimination issues.
