 Nick heads a team that seeks to ensure a non-discriminatory trade environment in Europe. This has recently involved major efforts to secure new EU legislation defining whisky and other spirits, a campaign to preserve the EU’s bottle size law and another to prove Scotch Whisky does not contain allergenic material. All 3 dossiers concluded successfully in 2007.
Within the European Spirits Organisation, Nick is rapporteur on Turkey and enlargement and, until recently, chaired its working groups on labelling and bottle sizes.
Before joining the SWA, Nick was the Finance Officer in the British Embassy in Paris, preparing its monthly and quarterly economic reports on France.
