Robin has been involved in the field of housing supply & demand for most of his professional career, in both the public and private sectors. He spent a number of years preparing regional and local housing land allocation strategies for the Lothians, and therefore has a detailed knowledge of the key issues affecting the supply of homes in the Edinburgh City Region and the organisational and cultural challenges that have to be met if the new Government’s aspiration to build more homes is to be achieved.
Since joining Turley Associates as Director of its Scotland Business Unit in 2004, Robin has continued to be closely involved in the ongoing debate on housing provision. He has recently completed research for the Scottish Government on the effectiveness of Housing Land Audits, and currently sits on a number groups, including the Homes for Scotland Housing Task Force sub-group, the Scottish Property Federation Planning Committee, and the RTPI working group on the Government’s emerging legislation on new style Development Plans.
