Paolo Vestri has over 21 years experience of working for the public sector; an elected member on Edinburgh District Council (1984-92); a senior policy officer with the Scottish Arts Council (1992-94); Director of the Scottish Local Government Information Unit (1994 - 2003); a Policy Manager with COSLA (2003-04).
In October 2004, Paolo formed Hexagon Research and Consulting with fellow Directors, Robert Stevenson and Jim Patton as a leading edge company specialising in providing a wide range of research and consulting services for clients in the public and not for profit sectors.
He has researched and written extensively on local government issues including local government reorganisation, finance, Best Value, Community Planning, the Power of Well-being and Social Inclusion.
Paolo has a long standing interest in, and extensive experience of, and developing civic participation and consultation within the public sector in Scotland.
