derek mackayLeader of Renfrewshire Council since May 2007.
First elected to Renfrewshire Council in May 1999 for the Blythswood Ward in Renfrew.   Derek has served on a number of the Council committees and policy boards.  Currently serves on Community & Family Care Policy Board, Environmental & Infastructure Policy Board, General Management & Finance Policy Board, Leadership Board and Appointment and Grant Boards.
Active in politics at local and national level. Has worked as a parliamentary researcher for a West of Scotland MSP.
Appointed as an Non Executive Director of Greater Glasgow & Clyde NHS Board and Renfrewshire CHP Chair.
