Ray Lowry is a senior lecturer at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and an honorary NHS public health consultant. He is on the specialist registers for medical and dental public health. He has published over 40 articles in the learned press and has conducted quantitative and qualitative research on both medical and dental public health issues including health services, water fluoridation, oral cancer, social marketing and communication skills training for health professionals. He is the Director of Public Health Training in the North East of England and a recognised social marketer in the NHS.
