Duncan Isles is based within the Scottish Government’s Constitution Unit where he leads the Constitutional Policy and Civic Participation team. A former Marketing Manager for the National Museums of Scotland, he joined the civil service in 1999, shortly before devolution, to work initially on education policy. He has subsequently contributed to policy development in a range of areas, including natural heritage, rural policy and sustainable development and was Bill Manager for the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004. He took up his current constitutional policy post in January 2007.
