Keith Yates was appointed as Chief Executive of Stirling Council at the start of its shadow year in May 1995. He was actively involved in creating the new Council which set out to put its citizens and communities first. This included the creation of a citizen’s assembly and five policy and scrutiny committees. He was on the COSLA/Scottish Office Working Group that established Community Planning and led the preparation of the Community Plan for Stirling – which was one of five pathfinder authorities. He is the SOLACE Chair and spokesperson on egovernance. He also chairs the Citizen First Definitive National Address Consortium and represents SOLACE on the Improvement Service Board.
Outside work he enjoys reading, running and hillwalking and is a keen watcher of politics.
