James Mitchell is Professor of Politics at the University of Strathclyde. He previously held a chair in Politics at the University of Sheffield. He is the author of a number of books and numerous articles on territorial and Scottish politics. His latest book is ‘Devolution in the United Kingdom’, which will be published by Manchester University Press in 2008. He currently co-directs ESRC studies on the May 2007 Scottish Elections and another on the Scottish National Party.
