Maurice Frankel has worked with the Campaign for Freedom of Information since it was set up in 1984, and has been its director since 1987.

He has been heavily involved in persuading the UK government to introduce FOI legislation, seeking to improve the bill during its Parliamentary passage and subsequently training both public authority staff and potential users.  

He is a member of the Ministry of Justice's 'Information Rights User Group'.
