martinsime.jpgMartin Sime is the Chief Executive of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, the umbrella body for the voluntary sector in Scotland.  

Until 1991 he was Director of the Scottish Association for Mental Health, the main campaigning and community care providing organisation for people who have mental health problems.  Prior to joining the voluntary sector, Martin was a sheep farmer on the Isle of Lewis.

Martin is currently a Board member of ACOSVO, the Chief Officers Network, and Workwithus - the voluntary sector portal.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of Civicus, the global network of national NGO Associations.  Martin has also served on the Charity Law Reference Group,  the New Deal Task Force, and the Expert Panel on Procedures for the Scottish Parliament.
