John Watson is the Programme Director, Scotland for Amnesty International. This role centres on: adapting the international concerns and issues promoted by Amnesty for the Scottish context; working with elected politicians, civil servants, journalists and other Scottish stakeholders to raise understanding and support for human rights; and supporting groups and individuals in Scotland who want to stand up for human rights around the world.
Previously John has worked, both in Edinburgh and in London, as Parliamentary Officer for a leading children’s charity, running a small office for an international development campaign, co-ordinating a UK-wide environment campaign and as a conference organiser.
