Since 2003 Peter McGrath has been head of the Parliament's legislation team, which oversees the handling of all public and private Bills from pre-introduction through to enactment.
Peter joined the Parliament in 2000 as a clerk in the newly created Non-Executive Bills Unit, before moving on to serve the Health and Education Committees.
He is also acting Clerk to the Public Petitions Committee. Prior to joining the Parliament, Peter worked for the Scottish Law Commission, which proposes technical law reform to the Scottish Ministers, and then in the legal policy department of the Law Society of Scotland.
