Kenyon Wright was Executive Chair of the Scottish Constitutional Convention from its foundation in 1989 until the formal handover of the “Claim of Right” document to Donald Dewar the day before the Scottish Parliament was inaugurated in 1999. He was a member of the Consultative Steering group (CSG) which proposed the Standing Orders, and the 4 guiding principles of the new Parliament, and also of the Working Group which developed its Code of Conduct. In 1999 he was made a CBE “for services to constitutional reform and Scottish devolution”
He was General Secretary of Scottish Churches Council, and earlier Director of the Centre for International Reconciliation at Coventry Cathedral, of which he is a Canon Emeritus. His early ministry was in India.
