Dr Iain Docherty BSc PhD CMILT is Senior Lecturer and Director of MBA Programmes at the Department of Management, University of Glasgow.

Iain’s research and teaching addresses a wide range of issues affecting connectivity, institutional change and regional competitiveness, with particular emphasis on the structures and changing management processes of local and regional governance, policies for improved economic performance, and the development and implementation of strategic planning and transport policies. 

Iain also acts as an adviser on strategic policy issues to a range of private sector, governmental and other organisations. He is a Non-Executive Director of Transport Scotland and his other recent external appointments include membership of the Commission for Integrated Transport’s Expert Academic Panel, and Expert Advisor to the Local Government and Transport Committee of the Scottish Parliament.
