Jane Ryder has been the Chief Executive of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator since its creation in December 2003. She was responsible for the development of the organisation as an Executive Agency and for managing the transition to OCSR’s new status as a Non Ministerial Department in April 2006.
Originally a partner of the Edinburgh solicitors Boyd Jameson, she was also a Council member of the Law Society of Scotland, and subsequently the Chief Executive of the Scottish Museums Council. Throughout her career she has had an active interest in corporate governance and prior to the establishment of OCSR she was Chair of the Scottish Refugee Council, Vice Chair of Stevenson College and the Scottish Board member for the UK wide NDPB, the Council for Museums Libraries and Archives.
